Simone Biles, America’s Gymnastic Queen

Simone Biles first shot to fame during the 2013 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp, where she became the first African-American and the seventh American to win the all-around title. Simone Arianne Biles was born on the 14th of March, 1997 at Colombus, Ohio. Originally from Spring, Texas, Simone is the daughter of Shanon Biles.

Simone and her three siblings were raised by her grandparents due to her mother’s inability to take care of them. Biles who is currently a Business Administration student at the University of People and also a brand ambassador to her University. Before opting to attend the University of People, Biles committed herself to UCLA to compete in the NCAA but less than a year later she announced that she would turn professional thereby forfeiting her eligibility to compete for UCLA.

Simone is often referred to as the “American Queen of Gymnastics” and the “greatest gymnast ever” by Olympic Champion Mary Lou Retton and several others who always applaud the great feat achieved by young lady. Simeone Biles who has won so many medals is regarded amongst the most decorated gymnast just behind Belarusian Vitaly Scherbo (33 medals) and Larisa Latynina of Ukraine (32 medals).

In fact she holds the record for the gymnast with the most World medals and most gold medals amongst any gender. She also doubles as the female gymnast with the most World all-round titles and the sixth woman to win an individual all-around title at both the Olympics and the World Championships. She is the tenth gymnast and first American gymnast to win a World medal on every event, this feat was accomplished at the 2018 World Championships.

Simone Biles has four Olympic gold medals and an Olympic bronze medal, nineteen World Championship gold medals, three World Championship silver medal and three World Championship bronze medal, two Pacific Rim Championship gold medals and three FIG All-Around World Cup medals which includes two gold medals and one silver medal. Simone has two gymnastic moves named after her which include The Biles and The Biles II, this was after her amazing and breath taking performance at the 2019 World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany. Her extreme performance makes her the only American to win a title in every gymnastic competition.

Simone is currently in a relationship with NXT Superstar, Stacey Ervin Jr. the couple who have been together for years became official on Instagram on August 21, 2017. Simone has always described Stacey as the ‘most supportive man’, she has known in her life.

On January 18, 2018, she came out like so many other female athletes in the U.S gymnastic team to accuse the former USA gymnastics physician Larry Nassar and also pointed a finger at the USA Gymnastics for having an alleged role in allowing the abuse to occur, and for subsequently covering it up.
